THE downpour on Friday evening and Saturday morning resulted in Saturday’s Golf Backpackers single stroke monthly medal being postponed. It will now be held this coming Saturday, December 9. It will also be the playoff for the Gold Medal for players who have won a monthly medal over the past year. They must be play for the gold medal in the grade they won their medal.

Also on Saturday, it will be the last chance to qualify for the Dollar Day final the following day, December 10. A full list of qualifiers for both the gold medal and dollar day is on the Notice Board in the Clubhouse and in the Pro Shop.
A single stableford for some hardy souls was played on Saturday with seven fanatics turning out, won by Col Vearing who fired 74 off the stick to card 39 points ahead of Alf Franchi, shooting 85 to score 35 points. David Kidd and Ian Smith won vouchers.
The last chance Leo Franco Holden Scramble was played last Sunday with 20 teams including visitors from Howlong, Leeton, Hillston and Condobolin..
Howlong visitors, Robert Williams, Travis Merreitt, Steve Coonan and Scott Reno showed all the locals how it is done, qualifying for the next round, combining to shoot 13 under par 58 60 card 53 3/8 nett.
The local team of Josh Stapleton, Matt Staines, Tim Rice and Brad Saunders shot 9 under par 62 for 57 1/8 nett to be next in line, followed by Tom Doubleday, Bert Taylor, David Humphries and Greg Borger 68 58 nett third. Thank you to sponsors Leo Franco.
The family day 6 on 6 was cancelled and will now be played on Friday, January 19.
The first of two Caltex 5s Summers Comp will be completed on Sunday, December 17. The second comp will start January 8. with membership and cart deals still available.
Today’s and Sunday’s competitions are single stablefords.
The veterans played a team stableford last Thursday with 29 players. Winners were Graeme Trevett, Ken Alpen, Keith Woodbridge 85 points on a countback over Roy Calalbria, Byron Jmes, James Browne, Don Catanzariti 85 points.
There was a single in conjunction won by Woodbridge, 37, on a countback over Jim Dickie.
Graham Sibraa won the 11th, Bill Brown 15th, John F Gale 16th.
This week’s veterans event is a single stableford.
A two grade single stableford last Wednesday. Ian Smith, 35, won 0-18 Grade on a countback over Brian Savage. Ray Mead, 38, won 19-36 Grade aheadof James Browne, 37. Vouchers to 33 points.
LADIES: Wednesday, November 29 17 ladies played Stableford in two divisions.
Division 1: Winner: Liz Graham 36 points from Yvonne Couper 34 points. Division 2: Winner: Liz Humphreys 36 points from Val Browne 35 points
Ball Comp: six ladies won a ball with a score of 29 points or better required.
