Mr Delves ran from the Murrumbidgee River, Darlington Point, through the town of Griffith, out to Lake Wyanagan. He called it the River2Lake run – covering the 47km in five hours.
“I was very nervous on Friday night given the weather forecast, but we ended up getting more people than we expected,” Mr Delves said.
“I was overwhelmed with the support”.
“I’d like to thank all those who helped us – PinnacleHPC Pty Ltd, Bertoldo’s Bakery, MIA Coaches, Baiada, PHL Surveyors and ARMS - Rehabilitation Services”.
Mr Delves was motivated by his little brother being diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at the age of 11.
“To see the effect Type 1 had on him in its own right and the exacerbating effect it had on all the other ‘normal’ issues was confronting,” he wrote on his webpage.
Money raised goes to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund.
