St Patrick’s Primary School went up in a crowd of colour recently as over 400 students gathered for a colour fun run.
The whole school event kicked off with the Year Six students who were soon joined by their Kindgergarten buddies.
Families and friends were asked to sponsor students on the day.
All money raised was put towards purchasing new play equipment for the school.
Earlier in the year an old fort on the playground, which had been at the school for over 30 years, needed to be removed.
Event coordinator Maree Puntoriero said the event was a hit.
“The kids couldn’t wipe the smiles off their faces all day,” she said.
“The kids had an absolute blast. They are already asking if there is going to be another one next year.”
The P&F Committee said the day wouldn’t have been possible without the school staff, Marion College students, Lake Wyangan RFS and the parents on supersoakers.
“We had a really great response,” Ms Puntoriero said.
“We had Cliff from the Lake Wyangan Rural Fire Service out there with the truck, which the kids absolutely loved as well.”
