
THE second round of the Doms Motors Griffith Golf Club Grade Championships was played last Saturday and last year’s champion, Jason Magoci, with rounds of 77, 72-149, holds a one shot lead over multiple former champion Matt Staines, 76, 74-150.
In A Reserve, Luke De Valentin, 82,79-161, has a handy six stroke over David Kidd, 90,77, and Col Leeson, 87,80, both on 167.
The Guglielminos, Charlie and Dom, lead the B Graders on 175 and 177, followed by Steve Crowe and David Whitfield 178.
Jack Draskovic, 192, has hit the front in C Grade from Chris Green and Geoff Oslington, 195. There are always big swings in this grade with any player over 200 or better a chance.
Magoci also leads A Handicap on 141 nett, De Valentin 143 nett leads A Reserve, the Gugllielminos 145 lead B Grade and Green 145 leads C Grade. Players seeded must play in the seeded draw as posted on the notice board.
Last Saturday’s event, a single stroke with 79 players. David Kidd, 66 nett, draining birdies on the 12th and 15th, won A Grade, ahead of Jason Magoci, 68 nett, shooting one over par 72 with four birdies.
Chick Graham, 70 nett, won B Grade on a countback over Graeme Trevett, 70 nett, birdies on the 8th, 9th, and 15th.
Chris Green, 68 nett, won C Grade ahead of Jack Draskovic, 71 nett.

A single stableford on Sunday in two grades. Wayne Alpen, 39 points, won 0-18 Grade from Trent Anderson, 35 points.
Skeet Milne, 37 points, won 19-36 Grade on a countback over John Evans, 37 points.
Wayne Alpen won the 7th pin, Trent Anderson 11th. Vouchers went to 33 points.
The Riverina Left Handers held their championship at Griffith last Sunday. Peter Nolan from the Commercial Resort won the title, carding 38 points ahead of local Matt Staines, 34 points.
Ball comp went to 33 points.
The Riding for Disabled Charity Day will be held on Friday, November 24 – an ambrose, 10am shotgun start. All day barbecue. Open to everyone.
Sacred Heart Parish is holding a golf day this coming Sunday, November 19. It is just a fun day, an ambrose, hit off 1.30pm and $15 entry includes a barbecue after golf. Barbecue only, $5.

The veterans played a two grade single stableford last Thursday. Ian Smith 40 points won 0-18 Grade ahead of Gerry Cox, 38. Mike Carnell, 37, won 19-36 Grade from Dave Henderson, 36 points.
