Police have ordered a man to drop his weapon on Banna Lane yesterday, after receiving reports he was walking around with a hand gun.
Around 1.50pm on Monday the man was seen walking down Banna Lane carrying what looked to be a pistol.
Police responded quickly, and saw the 23-year-old male holding something resembling a handgun.
The responded with appropriate action, ordering the man to drop the weapon,
The man complied with the police request, and was arrested and handcuffed.
Police identified the gun in question was not in fact a firearm, but a replica cap gun.
He was taken back to the police station, and police are conducting further enquiries.
