
The son of Griffith City Council general manager Brett Stonestreet appeared in Griffith Local Court on Wednesday, October 25.
Matthew Stonestreet faces charges of allegedly stabbing his father in March 2017.
Mr Stonestreet appeared via video link from Junee Correctional Facility.
An apprehended violence order involving Mr Matthew Stonestreet was also addressed in court on the same day.
The court also ordered that a health justice report be completed before his next court appearance.
Police were called to the home on Hillam Drive at 5.45am on March 15 2017 after they received a call regarding a concern for welfare and the actions of a 29-year-old male at the property.
The 55-year-old entered the bedroom of the home where it is alleged he was attacked by his son who was armed with a knife.
He suffering multiple stab wounds.
Police intervened and the assailant was arrested without further incident. Mr Brett Stonestreet was later flown to Sydney for treatment.
The case was adjourned until November 22.
