Leeton finished fourth on the reserve grade ladder, with their road to the grand final a winning one.
Coach Shane Wallace said his side was better for having played consistent matches and they had so far come through the finals without picking up an injuries.
“I’m pretty sure the last time we won it was in 2006,” he said.
“So that’s 11 years. Everyone is prepared and ready to go against the Hawks.
“They are going in as the favourites and we’re all right with that.
“It’s going to be a really interesting game. They’ve beaten us every time we’ve met this year, but I think from memory it was by two points each time.”
The Hawks have had a relatively smooth ride to the grand final.
Having secured the minor premiership in the home and away season, Yanco-Wamoon earned the first week of the finals off to rest and recuperate.
Their only outing in the finals so far was a solid victory over the Waratah Tigers, meaning they went straight through into the premiership match.
The Hawks are coming off another weekend away from the field, but their captain-coach Michael Thomas wasn’t too fazed.
