Police arrest man in Narrandera following long-running investigation into break and enters.

A SWATHE of stolen property has been found during the execution of a search warrant at a Narrandera home this week. 

As a result a 26-year-old man has been charged following ongoing investigations into increased break and enters and property offences in the Narrandera area. 

In May, Griffith Local Area Command established Strike Force Chando to investigate those responsible for committing break and enter and other property related offences in Narrandera and Leeton. .

Following inquiries, police attached to Griffith Local Area Command executed a search warrant at a home in Chantilly Street, Narrandera on Wednesday. 

During the search officers found and seized a large number of items:

  • Clothing
  • Power tools
  • Furniture
  • Make-up
  • Garden tools
  • Sporting equipment
  • Tool boxes
  • Backpacks
  • Vehicle keys

Much of this property is suspected of having been stolen from premises in the area.

Police later arrested the man who lives at the Chantilly Street home.

He was taken to Narrandera Police Station where he was charged with six break, enter and steal offences, break and enter with intent to steal, break and enter and commit serious indictable offence, steal motor vehicle, take and drive conveyance, larceny, police pursuit (Skye’s law) and driving while disqualified.

He was refused bail and will appear at Wagga Wagga Local Court on Thursday, September 14. 


Earlier in the week, Griffith LAC executed a search warrant at a Leeton property on Tuesday 12.

Part of Strike Force Chando, police seized $9000 worth of power tools suspected to have been stolen.

This search related to a break and enter and steal that occurred at a Leeton premises under construction earlier in the month.

The occupant of the searched residence was spoken to by police in regards to the acquisition of the property, and all tools found were seized as exhibits

The occupant of the premises will receive a court attendance notice for dealing with the proceeds of crimes.
