The High Court has rejected a challenge to the Turnbull Government’s same-sex marriage postal vote.
The court ruled that the survey will go ahead, with ballot papers due to be mailed out next week.
In a poll conducted by The Area News, 60 per cent of those surveyed said they disagreed with the idea of a postal, they would be voting yes.
The no vote was also strongly represented, with 28 per cent saying that they would not be voting for same-sex marriage.
Nine per cent said that they would not be participating and a further two per cent had other views.
Voters have until November 7 to send off their forms, with the final result due to be announced on November 15.
