Round 11 of Griffith Netball was held on Saturday and players were greeted with reasonably good conditions over the course of the day.
In the MIA Coaches C Grade division the top four were drawn to play each other. First placed Big Chicks took on fourth placed The Force in a game Big Chicks would have been hoping to win.
However, in an upset, the Force took out the game 20-14. With second placed SPS / Doms / Bowmans defeating The Dreamers there was a shuffle at the top of the ladder with SPS / Doms / Bowmans sneaking into top spot, just one point ahead of Big Chicks.
The Dreamers stay in third however they are now joined by The Force so it looks like C Grade may well go down to the wire come finals time.
Ill Corso B Grade saw DeBortoli’s give Not the Princesses a lesson in netball, winning by 28 goals to retain their lead in this division.
In a boil over, the Deadlies registered their first win of the season, taking out the second placed Rep 14’s by 3 goals.
With Griffith Motor Group collecting three points for the bye they now join Rep 14’s in second place with Not the Princesses holding onto fourth.
Not The Princesses are drawn to play Deadlies next week, and if Deadlies manage another win they will be within one point of the Princesses and a real threat to take a semi-final spot.
Finally, in Coro Club A Grade, ES Sprightly picked up an easy three after Fresh Health and Fitness / Masters of Hair had to forfeit.
Tonann registered a win and a welcome return to the winners circle, whilst Pinnacle also registered three points after taking the bye.
This leaves A Grade also on a knife’s edge, with Sprightly and Pinnacle equal on points and Tonann and Fresh Health and Fitness / Masters of Hair also equal on points.
As with C Grade, next week the top 4 are drawn to play each other so it will be interesting to see what the results do to the ladder after round 12.
Jubilee will be the place to be next weekend for another great day of netball action!
