
THE run of frost has tamed the kikuyu at the Griffith Golf Club, resulting in plenty of run on the fairways in a single stableford last Saturday.
The “Terrible Twins” Matt Staines and Josh Stapleton battled for A Grade honours.
Staines, playing off-one, fired three under par 68, carding birdies on the 1st, 6th, 8th, 12th, 15th, and 17th, for 38 points.
Stapleton, playing off four, was runner-up with 36, nailing birdies on the 5th, 9th, and 14th, on CB over Tony McBride.
Charlie Guglielmino, 40, won B Grade, carding nine pars. Graeme Trevett, 37, runner-up, draining a birdie on the 17th.
John Dalton, 40, won C Grade, draining a birdie on the 1st, in a 22 point front nine, ahead of Graeme Bamford, 39, also scoring 22 out, carding a four point par on the 16th.
Pro Pins won by Chris Gill and Mat Staines. Par Threes, 4th and 16th, Mark Brown, 7th Martin Sweeney, 11th Alan Murnane. Vouchers went to 34.

A TWO grade single stableford on Sunday.
Andrew Oates, 35, won 0-18 Grade, recovered from one 15-point front nine to card 20 home.
Geoff Cotterill second, 34, with six pars.
Bamford continued his good form, taking the 19-36 Grade with 40, four point pars on the 4th and 16th.
Paul Woodland also carded 40 but lost the CB, four point par on the 11th.
Oates also won the 7th pin. Vouchers went to 32.

THE veterans played a single stableford last Thursday, which was also the final round of the Winter Cup, results next week.
Roy Calabria, 40 points, won 0-18 Grade ahead of Tony McBride, 38 points.
Garry Purcell, 39 points, won 19-27 Grade on a CB over Denis Moran, 39 points.
Mike Hedditch, 34 points, won 28-36 Grade on a CB over Noel Foley, 34 points.
Pins 4th Ray Mead with a five point birdie, 7th Roy Calabria, 16th Byron James. Vouchers to 36 points.
