Neil Mahaffey, 38, won A Grade. He recovered from a 17-point front nine to card 21 home, nailing birdies on the 8th, 9th and 11th. Gerry Cox, 37, came second, canning a birdie on the 10th.
Neil McAntee, 41, won B Grade and is also the first round leader, draining birdies on the 8th and 13th.
Runner-up Shane Gaffey, 37, carded birdies on the third and eighth holes.
Ray Greig, 37, won C Grade, 17 out and 20 home on a countback over Ray Barrington, 37, failing to capitalise on a 22-point front nine, four point par on the 4th.
Pro Pins won by Neil McAntee and Neil Mahaffey. Par Threes 7th, Slim Cavanaugh, 11th, Neil Mahaffey, 16th, Allan Andreazza. Vouchers to 33 points.

Chris Mansell, 39, won 0-18 Grade, nailing a birdie on the 15th, on a countback over Josh Stapleton, 39, draining birdies on the 9th, and 14th.
Nic Knight, 36, won 19-36 Grade, canning a birdie on the 16th, ahead of Peter Den Houting 34 points, crashed on the back nine, only carding 14 points, a four point par on the third.
Chick Graham won the 7th pin, Andrew Oates 16th. Vouchers went to 34.
The club will be again running their usual function for Wednesdays Origin decider, free bus from 6pm, cheap schooners, finger food, sweeps, etc. Contact the club to book the bus, thanks to GS & BD Electrics.
The Leo Franco Holden Scramble is on Sunday, July 23 – a Four Person Ambrose. All the usual goodies on entry , from the Pro Shop or entry forms can be downloaded. A 10am shotgun start.

The veterans played a single stableford in three grades last Thursday, which was also the Sixth Round of the Winter Cup.

Cec Spence, 35 points, won 19-27 Grade, Dave Henderson, 34 points, second, on a countback over John F Gale.
Ron Smith, 34 points, won 28-36 Grade, second Bob Painting, 31 points.
Pins 4th Ian Smith, 15th Skeet Milne. Vouchers to 31 points.
Members have been slow in returning their entry forms for their tournament in October and are asked to do so as soon as possible.
Thursday’s event is a single stableford and also the seventh round of the Winter Cup.

David Woodside, 34 points, won A Grade ahead of Tony McBride, 33 points.
Frank Zambon, 37 points, won B Grade on a countback over Robin Salvestro, 37 points.
Derek Langford, 36 points, won C Grade, four point par on the second, over Graeme Bamford, 35 points.
