New comer Christina Starr left all comers in her wake in race two of the 2017 Surfer Competition long course last weekend. It's hard to pick a handicap for a new Feral so Christina made the most of the generous 10:00 start time. Well, for this week anyway. After running a time like that she is sure to join the back-markers next weekend.
Talking of back-markers, Jamie Ross is hitting some serious form lately and will be joining Christine near the back of the pack for race 3. This is easily his best time on this track and by far and away the fastest pace he has ever set, giving him 2nd place for the race and the competition. Ella Savage easily took 3rd position after again switching over from the short course and Robert Medway, after receiving a much later start time, cruised into 4th and took the competition lead with it.

Anthony Trefilo is again enjoying a good night’s sleep and his solid 5th place reflects that.

The other one to watch this comp is Chris Barbagallo who has taken 6th spot 2 weeks in a row and 3rd spot on the ladder. You don't need to win every week to take out a title. Just run consistently.
Fastest Ferals were Aidan Fattore with 22:42 over the 6.2km course and Narelle Lagergren at 27:48, finishing 7th and 8th respectively. Anna Gesuale and Andres Alduan rounded out the top 10.
In the short course Callum Vecchio followed the lead of his sisters Savannah and Milla taking his first ever win and now holds the early competition lead. Is there yet another trophy for mum Tracey to make way for on the fire place? Angelo Licastro was not far behind in 2nd with father and son duo Marcel and Stefan Guidolin hot on his heels for 3rd and 4th. Alex Careri and Nate Mingay fought all the way for 5th and 6th with Nate’s brother Jack just 1 second behind but still taking home bragging rights with the fastest time of 13:26.
Milla Vecchio was our fastest junior female Feral in a time of 16:56 for the 3.1km track.
The Feral Joggers run each Saturday afternoon at 4:30pm from the water tower across from Pioneer Park. Please arrive 10 minutes early to register.
