Even missing players Rhys Davis, who busted his nose in play last week requiring stitches, and Jordan Sartor, who was unavailable, the final scoreboard was a 10-nil whitewash in Yoogali’s favour.
Despite the significant loss Griffith City Two coach Angelo Cirillo remained upbeat and said he was proud of his team for players’ continued efforts on the field.
“We were beaten by a better team,” he said on Sunday.
“But to the boys credit we played through the 90 minutes.”
In spite of the disheartening reality of the scoreboard Cirillo said his team never gave up and did themselves credit in their attitude and perseverance.
“We didn’t put our heads down,” he said. “And we just tried to get better at stopping them from scoring.”
Round 7 will see the two Griffith City sides face off while Yoogali SC will play Yoogali FC Two.
