TUMUT apprentice Megan Taylor still maintains a significant lead in the quest for a historic Southern District Racing Association (SDRA) jockey’s premiership.
Nine meetings remain in the SDRA for the season and Taylor holds a nine-race lead over experienced Wodonga hoop Nick Souquet.
Taylor has enjoyed 31 winners in the Southern District this season and will become the first female rider to win the SDRA jockey’s premiership, should she maintain the lead.
Souquet, who last shared the premiership in 2014-15, is second on 22 wins and will need a big finish to run Taylor down.
Meantime, Wagga’s Trevor Sutherland holds a 10½-win lead in the trainer’s premiership and is set to win his third SDRA title.
