Taking to the road in aid of the skies, that is what an upcoming ‘hairy’ fundraiser has in its sights.
Every year the Outback Car Trek kicks off with a cut-a-rama fundraising event in aid of the Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia and this year it is coming to Griffith.
Held the night before the cars hit the road participants and onlookers fundraise to see drivers brave head shaves and endure crazy cuts with the locks of locals also on the chopping board all thanks to a dedicated team of volunteer stylists from Just Cuts.
In 2016 the event raised a staggering $20,000 with organisers hopeful Griffith’s donations in 2017 will help them get over that mark. It is a hope making sense with rural areas like Griffith often dependent on life-saving services like the Royal Flying Doctors.
It is the 19th year cut-a-rama has run with more than $400,000 raised for the Royal Flying Doctor Service just by supporter Just Cuts. Cut-a-rama will be held at the Victoria Hotel on Saturday, June 3 from 6pm.
