MOTHER’S DAY, a time when mums can kick up their feet, relax and get spoilt rotten – right?
Well, it’s the case for most mums but not these two.
Lake Cargelligo’s Teeka Johnson and Hay’s Johanna Sandry didn’t have the most relaxing Mother’s Day ever but they did receive the greatest gift of all – beautiful baby boys.
Jamerakye Johnson and RJ McMahon were born at Griffith Base Hospital on Sunday.
The births weren’t easy, but the doting mothers couldn’t be happier.
It was terrible [the birth] but it was all worth it; best Mother's Day surprise ever.
- Teeka Johnson
“It was terrible [the birth] but it was all worth it; best Mother's Day surprise ever,” Teeka, who gave birth to her first child on Sunday, said.
The births had plenty of similarities, too.
Both little guys were eager to meet their families with Jamerakye coming a couple days early and RJ entering the world a whopping two weeks before his scheduled arrival.
It came as quite a shock to Johanna and Mother’s Day was the last thing on her mind when she woke up in the early hours of the morning and had to rush to Griffith with her sister.
“My waters broke at about 2 o’clock,” she said.
“It was really exciting, I didn’t even think of it, my daughter mentioned it and said ‘happy Mother’s Day’.
