The Farrer League representative squad will train at Narrandera Sportsground on Tuesday night, where Forysth and selectors will have one last look at players before deciding on who will play at Wangaratta.

There is a number of injury concerns for Farrer League after the weekend’s football and Forsyth is keen to give players one last chance to impress at training.

“There are a couple of blokes we’re waiting on fitness with,” Forsyth said.

“We’re training on Tuesday at Narrandera so it will be good to get another look at players, particularly a couple from Barellan and Coleambally.

“From there we’ll know whose fit and whose wounded and pick a squad with two or three emergencies.”

In a big blow to Farrer, Gerald Clear Medallist, Nick Hull, has withdrawn due to injury. Hull has been playing under duress to start the season for East Wagga-Kooringal and will use the week off to help his injured back.

Former Northern Jets coach Sam Fisher has been ‘playing sore’ and a decision will be made on his availability on Tuesday night, as will one on Temora ruckman Anthony Atkins.

With Hull out, Atkins ‘sore’ and The Rock-Yerong Creek’s Lachie Hunter not keen on rep football, the ruck stocks could be an issue for Farrer.

“It’s one thing we’re a little bit short on is our big men with Hull and Hunter out,” Forsyth said.

“We’ve still got some options and we’ve got a good midfield, too, so hopefully we’ll be right.”

Forsyth has been happy with the commitment from his squad, as a whole.

“I’ve been really impressed with the commitment of players, including the blokes who travel,” Forsyth said.

“We’ve got six in the squad from Canberra and they’re all doing their best to be right for Saturday. It’s been super.”

Farrer League will hold their final representative training at Maher Oval on Thursday night.
