The emergency service workers put together a video to raise awareness of the issues they face while leaving their station to attend jobs and upon returning.
Firefighter and creator of the video, Danielle McKay said the positioning of the station poses many issues.
“With the roundabout and how the road is positioned it can be quite difficult for trucks to get in and out,” she said.
“I think the biggest issues is people’s impatience.
“The amount of cars who try and pass if we don’t completely block the road is crazy.”
A number of near misses encountered by the firefighters prompted this video with the hope may change the actions of the pedestrians.
“We have enough trouble with people ignoring sirens,” she said.
“If people could just show a bit more patience it would make our job easier.
“It’s probably a bit early to say, but hopefully it can make a difference.”
