Ms Sayers was astonished that Australia’s oldest writing group, which has been around since 1928, didn’t already have a group in the city.
After going through all the red tape Ms Sayer has successfully held the groups first meeting attracting budding writers as far as Leeton
Ms Sayer was tickled pink with the hand full of buddy scribblers that attended.
She can not wait to see what amazing talents that will be unleashed, as well as wanting the group to grow.
“All you need is a interest in scribbling it doesn’t even matter if you can’t string two words together, If you come you eventually will learn,” Ms Sayer said.
While Ms Sayer has no yearning to be a best selling author, she was chuffed when her work was published in the Mudgee Fellowship of Writers book.
Hoping eventually to be be able to do the same for the promising scribes of the group. Ms Sayer was looking forward to the when the whole community becomes involved.
“We open competitions, manly for schools, but there are different competitions for people in our group or anyone else who wants to join,” Ms Sayer said.
The group meets on the last Thursday of every month at the Multicultural Councils offices in Memorial Park. This month they will be meet on April 20.
Anyone interested in the group can contact Ms Sayer on 0488 444 951 or email mazysayer@icloud.com for further information.
