A Photo Therapy Light, which is a life-saving piece of machinery used to break down Bilirubin within babies systems, was purchased with the donation.
As long as the jaundice levels in a baby are at a manageable leave, it is able to be treated locally.
The light minimises the complications of jaundice.
Without this important piece of machinery major heath issues might incur.
If the infants jaundice leaves are excessive, then an exchange transfusion would be required.
An exchange transfusion is a type of blood transfusion and in this case the baby would be transferred to a larger hospital.
The original light was not decommissioned which allows more than one baby to be treated at a time.
