Currently a doctor from Griffith Base Hospital is visiting Hillston twice a week and will continue to do so to review aged care residents and patients and write prescriptions for the community.
Carrathool mayor Peter Laird said medical practitioner services at Hillston are still being negotiated.
“As soon as some arrangements have been negotiated we will advice the community,” he said.
Hillston MPS will continue to be open 24 hours with Registered Nurses with qualifications in emergency care available to triage and assess patients.
