A truck driver has had a lucky escape outside of Barellan on Wednesday after a fire ripped through his vehicle, blocking traffic for a number of hours.

Griffith Highway Patrol said it appeared there had been some sort of break or failure, which had started a fire under the cabin of the truck.
The driver, who had pulled over to inspect his vehicle in an east-bound lane outside of the town when the truck went up in flames, was not injured.
