AS PART of seniors week Griffith Aged Support Service treated some of their clients to a luncheon up at Pioneer Park.
The luncheon also featured a train ride around the park to take in the local history while also getting the seniors moving with exercise held in the morning.
Organiser for the day Monica Beckman said it was all about getting the seniors out and about.
“The theme for 2017 is ‘Let's do things together’,” she said.
“We have got 65 clients up here as well as volunteer staff we are going to have a lovely luncheon and go for a train ride and enjoy the beautiful weather.”
As a part of their service, they look after the seniors with social support and try to get them involved with community events and activities.
We help to ward off depression and anxiety and we help people feel that they may be becoming isolated in their own home,” she said
“We want them to get out and have fun and enjoy life and enjoy each others company.”
