The Griffith Off Road Club will hold one of its biggest races ever when the club hosts the ARB Town & Country Tyres Stackpoole 400 Off Road Race on the weekend of March 17-19.
This race is the opening round of the ARB Off Road Racing Series and a change to the course and the format of the race has proved beneficial with over 100 cars already entered into the race.
The winner of last year’s race, Danny Brown, has just returned from racing in America and will be back at Stackpoole to defend his title this year.
The track is located at ‘Stackpoole’ on the Mid-Western Highway, Goolgowi.
It is made up of fast flowing straights, rocky sections and deep sand tracks.
The full race is roughly 450 kilometres in length as cars will complete seven laps of the 65-kilometre circuit.
Catering will be available from Friday afternoon, all day Saturday and Sunday.
Bacon and egg, roast dinners, pizzas and the usual array of barbecue will also be available over the weekend along with a bar.
Camping passes will be available at the front gate to the venue and full amenities including hot showers are available at the track.
Scrutiny will be held at the track on Friday from 3pm.
The presentation will wrap up the weekend at roughly 3.30pm on Sunday.
