
JUNIOR CRICKET BINKS/TUCKER
Warner confirmed their recent run of form with a massive win over Lyon. Led by Matthew Adams who belted 46 runs, Warner went on to rack up 1/151. Support came from Owen Robinson who made 21 and Alex Schirripa and Jacob Serafin who both made 17. Toby Vian was Lyon’s only wicket taker. Lyon had a battle to reach 9/50. Jayden Morell did well to make 14 runs, Jacob and Josh Serafin both picked up two wickets for Warner.
Clarke had an impressive win over the strong Cummins side. Clarke’s score of 6/116 (ave 19.3) was too good for Cummins who could only manage 11/99 (ave 9). Cooper Rand made 23, Oliver Young, 21, and Bede Kenny 18 for Clarke. Javier Torresan led the Cummins bowling attach with two wickets. Cummins batsmen failed except for Christian DallEst with 31. Bodhi Brady 23 and Tomas Goirigolzarri 18. Oliver Young and Bede Kenny both captured three wickets. Joseph Macri and Cooper Rand helped out with two wickets each.
Watson’s batsmen went on a run scoring spree against Starc scoring a big 3/165. Keiran Casey blasted 39, Meli Ranitu added 29. Nate Sergi smashed 34 and Connor Moore made 23. Harry Morshead, Tyler Gatto and Nick Piper all took a wicket for Starc. Starc’s batsmen were also under pressure in their innings of 7/47. Jackson Ross and Tyler Gatto scored 11 runs each and Harry Morshead top scored with 12 runs. Keiran Casey and Meli Ranitu completed good all round efforts with two wickets each.
Smith Scored a hard fought win over Johnson. Their batsmen only managed 4/51 but tore through the Johnson batting line up to leave them 13/51. Asad Ali scored 13 and Liam James made 12 runs for Smith. Kadon Collins snapped up two wickets for Johnson. For Johnson, Angus ArgentSmith hit up 17 runs and Reif Leach made a useful 12 runs. Three wicket hauls were achieved by Asad Ali, Patrick Mickan and Ben Virago.
Cricketer of the round is Oliver Young for his effort in scoring 21 runs and taking three wickets for Clarke.
This week’s final round will be played as a day/nighter starting at 7 pm at Exies Oval. There is no cricket on Saturday morning in Junior Binks/Tucker.
