Exies has sewn up the minor premiership in the Griffith District Cricket Association fourth grade competition with a win over Diggers last Wednesday.
Exies held a four-point lead over Hanwood heading into the final round and the side’s five-wicket win ensured Exies stayed on top.
Diggers’ Brodie Mirtschin (10) and Blake Signor (14) ensured Exies had a total to chase with a solid opening stand.
However, Exies Taine Moraschi (2/5) and Jayden Quinn (2/1) tightened things up to have Diggers all out for 56.
Ben Fattore (2/10) bowled well in reply for Diggers but Lucas (13) and Sam (11) Irvin ensured Exies got over the line.
In the other game, Hanwood scored a big 10-wicket win over Coro.
Coro batted first and made 7/74 with Mark Bennett (16) and Ben Signor (27) top-scoring.
Harry Rowston (2/10) was Hanwood’s best bowler.
Then, Hanwood’s Oliver Bartter was unstoppable in amassing 40 retired to lead Hanwood to victory.
