DIGGERS have leapfrogged Hanwood into a top four position after a convincing win.
Hanwood started well after electing to bat with Brad Hornery (18) and Michael Crosato (19) getting the side to 28 before the fall of the first wicket.
Brendan Hicken (27) joined the party with Hornery to boost the side to be 3/65 when Hornery was dismissed by Glenn Faganello (3/22).
From there Hanwood lost seven wickets for 28 runs as Dean Aylett (3/26) and Mark Brown (3/7) doing most of the damage.
Diggers were never really troubled as Dom Brown (44) and Leon Vico (7) pushed the score to 27 before Vico fell.
Scott Smith (25*) teamed up with Brown to continue to push getting the score to 57 before Brown fell.
The bowling of Brendan Hicken (3/10) caused a slight wobble in the Diggers charge, however, Craig Lugton (5*) and Smith guided the side to a five-wicket win.
