Griffith is set to celebrate Australia Day on Thursday as citizens across the nation celebrate everything that is great about living in the lucky country.
The city will kick-off celebrations at its traditional Pioneer Park Australia Day breakfast from 7.30am.
With both activities and a hearty breakfast on offer the breakfast has been the starting point of celebrations for many a year.
Chair of the Australia Day Working Party Christine Stead said this year’s ambassador director Anu Sharma would be mingling with the crowd from early on.
“This is a great family outing - children will enjoy the activities including Snowy River horse rides, everyone will love the tunes of Jeff Gardner’s Country West, and best of all, entry is free until 12 noon – a great reason to come and explore the Museum,” Cr Stead said.
The city will then recognise its best and brightest at the official awards and citizenship ceremony from 9am at the Griffith Regional Theatre.
