Let the history books show Griffith’s first ever burrito was made up of chicken, black rice, cheese, lettuce and chipotle sauce.
Burrito lover and Mexican food enthusiast Michaela Nolen snagged the city’s first burrito on Thursday as Griffith’s newest restaurant Zambrero opened its doors for the first time.
An excited Ms Nolen was first in line outside the store, arriving 20 minutes earlier than the official opening time.
“When I first heard they were coming here I was overjoyed,” she said.
“Someone told me when I was at work and I just couldn’t believe it.
“I have been waiting years for Griffith to get a Mexican restaurant.”
Also lined up outside the store were eager couple Shane and Natasha Grieg who have been yearning for Mexican food since making the move from Sydney.
“We have had it many times before and we love it,” Mr Grieg said adding that the variety in cuisine was also a welcome addition.
