Leisure services manager, Alan Anderson, said it was an honour to be nominated for the award for the third time.
“Our swim school is consistently at capacity each term and it is fantastic to know that the work undertaken is acknowledged in this way,” Mr Anderson said.
“We are fortunate to have such a passionate and professional team who are dedicated to ensuring children in this area remain safe in the water.”
Swim school coordinator, Vanessa Lanza, said this particular award recognised a swim centre who had demonstrated excellence, commitment and innovation in the development and delivery of swimming and water safety programs.
“We are so proud of the service and programs we offer and it is pleasing to be recognised by the world’s leading learn to swim organisation,” Mrs Lanza said.
“The Splash swim school team here at GRALC work very hard to ensure students receive the highest level of teaching possible - to be acknowledged in this way confirms your children are in one of the best swim schools in the country.”
The annual AUSTSWIM awards program provides an opportunity to identify and honour individual AUSTSWIM teachers, presenters and recognised swim centres from across the country for their respective contributions to aquatic education and water safety.
The award will be announced at a ceremony on Friday September 18.
