THE Griffith Swans Red under 13 side warmed up for the Riverina South West Junior Football League finals with a big win over GGGM at the weekend
Swans Red prevailed 20.10 (130) to 1.0 (6), with Jesse Paton finishing the game with eight goals.
Also starring for the Griffith side were Michael Conlon, Dean Bennett, Max Findlay, Tayben Yerbury and Benny Rowston.
The Swans White under 13 team also had a good win, beating Leeton 9.5 (59) to 5.6 (36).
Defenders John Zarins and Ethan Mulholland were outstanding for Swans White at the back, while forward Sam Kelly and best- on-ground Isaac Campbell also had memorable games.
In the under 11s, Swans Red didn't let foggy conditions impair its kicking as it beat GGGM 13.3 (81) to 3.2 (20) in a fine lead-up performance to the play-offs.
Swans White went down 8.9 (57) to 2.3 (15) against Leeton, a slow start proving costly.
The under 15 Griffith sides both suffered losses.
Swans White fell 13.15 (93) to 3.7 (25) to Leeton, while an injury-hit Swans Red was defeated 9.13 (67) to 6.6 (42) by GGGM.
In junior netball, the Swans White under 13s cemented third spot on the ladder with a 24-12 victory over Leeton.
The whole team contributed to the win, and players will be hoping for a repeat performance against Narrandera in their finals match this weekend.
The Swans Reds under 11s also had a good result, beating GGGM 31-7.
The victory was set up in the first quarter when Swans Red stormed to an 11-2 lead.
They will play the Northern Jets in the semi-final on Sunday.
In the under 15s, Swans White beat Leeton 36-15, while Swans Red went down 34-24 to GGGM.
