Word of Maddison's - better known as Maddi - disappearance spread like wildfire, with calls for help spread over social media as family asked anyone to help locate the young teenager.
Police from the Griffith Local Area Command confirmed on Thursday morning that the girl had been found in the Victorian border town of Mildura.
"West Wyalong police liaised with their Victorian counterparts in Mildura and about 4pm (Wednesday) Mildura police located the missing girl at a riverside campsite near Mildura," Inspector Tony Reneker from the Griffith LAC said.
"Arrangements were then made for the child to be reunited with her parents. West Wyalong police will continue their investigation into the circumstances of the incident."
Posts on Facebook page Australian Missing Persons Register were shared thousands of times as people pitched in to spread the word of Maddison's disappearance.
