After months of hard work producer Belinda Aventi said The Wiz was guaranteed to impress Griffith audiences.
"There are still plenty of tickets available," she said.
"We've got awesome costumes and sets and lots of tricks and special effects to wow audiences.
"The fantastic lights by theatre staff will also add to the overall affect. All of the students are ready and pumped."
The Wiz is a reprisal of the 1970s Broadway musical inspired by Frank L Baum's The Wizard of Oz.
This modern version sets Dorothy's adventures in the Land of Oz to music in a dazzling, lively mixture of rock, gospel and soul, making the show funky and fun.
The Wiz will be presented at the Griffith Regional Theatre from tonight through to Saturday with five shows.
With more than 300 costumes and some wonderful special effects being used, Mrs Aventi is urging locals to attend.
"It's a young cast, with the majority of the leads year 10 students," she said.
"Many of the technical aspects of the show are as good as you'd get anywhere. It's not what you'd expect from a school musical. This is a full-blown production and we are extremely proud of it."
The show is directed by Don Hillam, with the assistance of Sarah Keane and musical direction by Matthew Segrave.
Tickets can be purchased from the theatre, online at www.griffithregionaltheatre.com.au or by phoning 6962 8444.
