Sons discover mother's body in Lithgow home

Homicide squad detectives are investigating the death of a Lithgow woman whose body was discovered by her two teenage sons on Tuesday.

A NSW Police spokeswoman said the 46-year-old's death was being treated as suspicious but could not say whether the woman had suffered any injuries.

The woman's two sons, aged 13 and 18, discovered their mother unconscious in their home on Wrights Road in Lithgow about 8am on Tuesday.

The teenagers called emergency services, who arrived a short time later but could not revive the woman.

A post-mortem examination is yet to be carried out to determine her cause of death, but initial police investigations suggested her death was suspicious, the police spokeswoman said.

Homicide squad detectives will assist officers from the Chifley local area command in the investigation.

Anyone with information has been urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or use the Crime Stoppers online reporting page.
