The Firearms and Organised Crime Squad's Strike Force Leatham is investigating reports that a number of people had attempted to solicit another person to murder two men.
"Investigations revealed the ‘murder plot’ was actually a fabrication designed to intimidate a number of people after a business partnership had soured," a statement from police said.
Strike Force Leatham detectives, assisted by the Griffith Local Area Command, executed a search warrant on a Merrigal Street home about 10.30am yesterday.
They allegedly uncovered an unregistered shotgun, a replica pistol and a small amount of methylamphetamine, or ice.
A 47-year-old woman was charged with stalk or intimidate to cause fear or physical or mental harm, possessing a prohibited drug, possessing a firearm and possessing an unregistered firearm.
At 11am, a 24-year-old man attended Griffith police station, where he was arrested and charged with the unauthorised possession or use of firearms. Police allege he is linked to a gun seized when police raided a Hanwood home on September 4.
At 6pm, a 29-year-old man was arrested when he attended Griffith police station. He was charged with stalk or intimidate to cause fear or physical or mental harm.
All three will face Griffith Local Court on October 9.
