Three teens have been hit with serious charges after a police chase through suburban Perth that resulted in one police officer being hit by an allegedly stolen motorbike. The trio were reportedly spotted outside a Malaga business in the city's north with were suspected to be stolen motorcycles on the afternoon of December 5. A WA police helicopter and plane tracked the bikes through several suburbs, including Balga, Bayswater, Como and Girrawheen, where it was alleged they were being ridden on roads and footpaths. Inspector Geoff DeSanges told the media they were tracked through a number of streets. "It will be alleged the motorcycles were ridden in a reckless manner throughout the course of their journey," he said. Upon reaching Murdoch, the trio split up. Around 5.20pm it's alleged an officer was struck by the motorcycle, before being punched in the face by a passenger as they fled the area. The vehicle was later found abandoned and a 14-year-old Armadale boy was arrested nearby. He was charged over the stolen bike and cannabis allegedly found in his possession. Another 15-year-old Warwick Boy was later arrested at a home in Leeming and charged with evading police. The final bike was discovered in Girrahween and a 17-year-old boy has since been arrested. Investigations into the incident, including the police assault are ongoing. Anyone with information, or who may have footage of the motorcycles, is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
