The Swans are coming into the game off the back of what was a pretty physical encounter last weekend against GGGM and have a couple of boys under a bit of an injury cloud.

Griffith has been pretty lucky when it comes to the casualty ward, and coach Will Griggs says the players will be given until the eleventh hour to prove their fitness.

“It was probably one of the most physical games we have had so far this season,” he said.

“Hopefully when Saturday rolls around everyone will be alright. We will give them until Friday to prove their fitness.”

The added incentive of playing the local rivals in Leeton this weekend only adds fuel to the fire burning for the players who have gotten the team into a position which sees them undefeated so far this season.

Griggs knows his side will have to be on their game this weekend when they make the trip down Irrigation Way.

“They tested us pretty hard last time out and will be going from the start in front of a home crowd,” he said.

“If we can get our movement right we will be in a good position. The last two weeks it hasn’t been as good as it could have been and the wind was a factor last weekend, and Ganmain were putting us under a fair bit of pressure as well.

“If we can use our running game to open up the ground hopefully the rest will fall into place.”

One of the keys to picking up the win over the Crows at Exies Oval earlier in the season was keeping Leeton’s key forward Daniel Muir quiet.

Muir is now leading goal kicker for the seniors with 35 goals, and Griggs knows this will be an important factor.

“Our captain James Toscan will get the job on him (Muir) this weekend,” he said.

“He did a good job keeping Riley Corbett quiet last weekend.

“If we need to change it up with have other options, but we are confident Tosco will do the job.”

While the Swans are yet to lose a game this season, the Crows have also hit a run of form having won three of their last four games.

The game will get underway at around 2.10pm on Saturday afternoon at the Leeton Showground.
