The pair was given the task by The Area News to record the event in their own unique way using video. In exchange, Matt and Dave received two media passes.
The plan was to have a casual chat and a beer with the headline act Daryl Braithwaite.
However, much to the disappointment of Area News reporters and the boys themselves, Braithwaite’s management dashed everyone’s hopes announceing the former Sherbert front man would not be giving interviews, spending only minutes at the venue prior to and after the event.
“It got to the point when he’d just finished Horses and the crowd was beginning to disperse,” Matt explained.
“And we felt obligated that we had to do something to earn these passes.
“So we headed backstage with some conviction, making sure our passes were noticeable, and bypassed everyone until we managed to find him [Braithwaite].”
Despite his security urging him to his vehicle, the boys were charming and convincing enough to capture some words from the visiting star on camera.
