With the Griffith Joggers Long run now at ten kilometres, and a few "elsewhere" thanks to the next day's City2Lake, there were some mighty lonely cowpokes out along the rodeo track on Scenic Hill on Saturday, but the Short run was busier than Cup Day.

Fiona Fattore and Jai Kenny crossed with the same time in the Short, and perhaps Fiona has eyes on a repeat of her Flexible Solutions Bacchus win in the Sprint event of 2013 - 20:15 was her winning time that year.
Jai will be hard to dislodge from the top of the competition table with a fifty point lead and two weeks to go.
The Taylor family took the next three places driven hard by the whip-cracking Leslie, the Gunn family represented with Angus and Hamish (just out of top ten) taking two of the fastest three times of the competition, and Jamie Ross and Rodney Savage salvaged some pride for the oldies.
Isabella at ninth was fastest on the day and the competition then had to wait far too long for big fish to scramble back.
There is no holding back Adrian Baird, a one man stampede in the Long - Adam Johnson at second could not get within sight.
Both runners have come back from the doldrums and are settled in to a personal battle for a trophy while Ed at third would be happy with that, and behind him some sudden improvers - Michael by a minute, Gary by that and a half, Stewart by closer to ten minutes!
Bronwyn Jones was the fastest in sixteenth, and Simon Fattore and Vince Restagno had all sorts of heart problems, trailed badly and struggled to beat the sunset and the load-out crew.
Well done all the Joggers who ran and rode in the City2Lake on Sunday. Congratulations to Aidan Fattore for a close win, just two seconds ahead of latest Feral recruit David Tighe who has the unenviable record of one run / one disq ... it is all up from here.
Previous Bacchus Sprint winner Oriana Foschi won with a gap to regular hill runner Narelle Lagergren... we'll throw a few rocks on the road next year to make Narelle feel more at home.
The Joggers meet every Saturday with a choice of short or long on the tracks and trails of Scenic Hill, starting 5:30pm from the water tower opposite Pioneer Park Museum, be early to register.
