A stolen vehicle was found burning on Thursday morning, blocking traffic at the intersection of Collins Road and Walla Avenue.

Between 9.30pm on Tuesday and 6.30am on Wednesday, it is alleged someone broke into a home on Merrigal Street while the resident was at home to steal car keys.
The current model Mazda B250 utility was parked and locked in the driveway when it was stolen, along with two tools boxes containing over $1500 worth of equipment that were in the vehicle.
The Mazda was found burning on Thursday morning at around 5.50am, blocking the intersection of Walla Avenue and Collins Road.
It was extinguished by Hanwood Fire Brigade, but was severely damaged.

In other news, between 3pm on Monday and 7am on Tuesday on Merrigal Street, a white Ford Ranger was broken into and a mobile phone stolen, with a Volkswagon Amarok also broken into and rummaged through in the same time frame.
