Inspector Nick Seddon said only eight people in the region have been charged with alcohol related offences since Friday.
“We are continuing to run this operation as well as conducting normal duties, so we encourage everyone to be very aware that we are out and about in order to drive down rural road trauma,” Inspector Seddon said.
The operation will end at midnight on Sunday February 18.
