The pair were able to score at a decent pace to get their side to 66 before Bartter (27) was dismissed Hannah Clark (1/9) while Rowston (36) was dismissed by James Clarke. No other Hanwood batsmen were able to break double digits as Clarke (2/9), Simon Toscan (1/3) and Bryce Rogers (1/8) picked up wickets to see Hanwood restricted to 6/82 off 20 overs.
While Rogers and Sam Breed were able to get the Nomads to 14 when Rogers (5) fell to the bowling of Harry Rowston (2/15) it was a struggle for the side to find a consistent partnership. With Tom Fattore (1), James Buchanan (1) and James Clarke (1) all falling cheaply it fell to Chris Hayes and Breed to give their side a chance.
However, with the score on 56, Breed became Ben Rowston’s (3/10) second victim meaning Coly needed 26 runs with five wickets in hand and 11.2 overs remaining. With Hayes at the crease, there was a chance for Coly however when he fell to the bowling of Jordan Whitworth (2/8) the Nomads still had time on their side as they needed 14 runs to win.
Toscan (5) and Lachlan Fattore (2) gave their side a chance, but when Fattore fell with the score on 74, the Nomads lost their last four wickets for four runs to give Hanwood a four-run win.
In the other game, Exies were able to close the gap on the second-placed Nomads with a win over Leagues. Leagues were able to make a fast start as both Hayden Forner (1), and James Roche (1) were run out within the first two overs to have Exies on 2/7.
Caleb Redman (26*) and Aditha Jayasuriya (17) gave Exies the foundation to build from before Jackson Hasson (2/17) to see Exies restricted to 5/75 off their 20 overs.
Leagues struggled early in their innings as they fell to 3/4 before Joel Harris and Patrick Payne gave their side a chance.
When Harris (7) fell it brought about another four quick wickets before Hamish Gunn (13) went at a run a ball before he was dismissed to end Leagues chance of their first win of the season as Exies came away with a 16-run win.
