Griffith Regional Art Gallery is excited to announce it will be kicking off 2018 with a “Free Family Fun Day” from 10am to 1pm on Saturday the 24th of February.
There will be loads of fun art activities for all ages in the Gallery Garden and adjoining Memorial Park - with a sausage sizzle, games and competitions, face painting and water fun to cool off the kids.
Visitors are invited to also check out the amazing artworks on display in the 2017 Art Express.
This exhibition features the best HSC works from across the state, including several pieces by young artists from Griffith and the Riverina.
There will also be great live music throughout the day.
Ray Wholohan, Gallery Coordinator said: “Our 2017 Launch and Family Fun Day was a great success with over 300 people coming along to enjoy the activities.
We will be once again be offering a whole range of interactive activities for the whole family, as well as a sausage sizzle, cool drinks, and discounts on wares in our beautiful Gallery shop.
We encourage everyone to come on down, find out about all of the great arts experiences we have on offer in 2018, and enjoy some fun and creative arts activities.”
Mr Wholohan continued: “For the first time we have our own brochure chock full of everything that is happening in 2018 which we will officially launch on the day.
We have an amazing program of touring and local exhibitions plus a broad program of workshops, talks, holiday programs and events for all ages and tastes.
2018 is also the 30th Anniversary of the National Contemporary Jewellery Award and we have some very special events to celebrate that achievement including a whole program of object art workshops.
Mr Wholohan said, ”Once again we will be signing up our FRoGS (Friends of the Gallery) and Art Ninjas – so you can stay in touch with the Gallery and keep in the loop of everything that is happening in 2018.”
