After winning the toss and electing to bat the loss of Will Kennedy (2) to the bowling of Jeff Phillpot but Griffith on the backfoot at 1/13.
Andrew Potter (16) tried to get the side moving in the right direction, but when he fell to the bowling of Albert Gibson (2/21), it saw Griffith lose three quick wickets as Joel Mulder (4) and Ryan Greenaway (4) both fell with the score on 32 off 15 overs.
Needing to form a meaningful partnership Babar Safdar and Brady French tried to provide a foundation for their side to build from, but tight bowling from Mick Foster made this a tough prospect.
Safdar (3) became Foster’s second wicket of the game and was followed soon after by French (21), who ended up being Griffith’s top scorer, Griffith found themselves on 6/64 and looked like they could be in trouble.
The worries were compounded when Raj Singh (2) and Todd Argus (9) fell in quick succession to the bowling of Foster (5/32) to complete his haul of wickets.
Thankfully for the home side, the ninth wicket partnership between captain Jason Hampel and Andrew McIntyre was able to get needed runs on the board.
The pair got their side past the hundred mark before McIntyre (18) fell to the bowling of Jason Malone (1/1) while Hampel was dismissed by Oliver Delves (8) to see Griffith bowled out for 105.
The visitors endured an almost identical start as Alex Manning (2) fell with the score on just 14, but Malone and Albert Gorman gave their side a fighting chance with an 18-run stand.
Unfortunately for Ardlethan/Barellan when Malone (23) and Gorman (15) fell to the bowling of McIntyre (2/10), it spelt the end for the challengers with only Delves (10) and Phillpot (10) getting into double digits.
Raj Singh did most of the damage to the middle order and was economical while doing it finishing with figures of 4/10 off four overs while Joel Mulder (3/9) played a good supporting role as Griffith bowled Ardlethan/Barellan out for 71 to come away with a 34-run victory.
