Match of the round – Exies v Diggers
LAST TIME THEY MET
Round two: Exies Diggers 169 (J. Hampel 63, A. Arnold 2/23, C. Bock 2/28) def by Exies Club 5/187(cc) (J. Winkler 87*, T. Pickmere 36, T. Richards 2/29).

KEY PLAYERS – Exies: Alistair Burge is arguably one of the prettiest batsmen in the competition, and a prized wicket coming in at three or four for Exies.
Effortless off the pads, and exquisite down the ground with a straight bat, Diggers will be hoping a fast Sporties deck will have something to help out their bowlers.
Jamie Winkler’s all-round efforts with bat and ball have been vital contributions to a dangerous Exies side.
His inclusion adds plenty of depth to both the batting and bowling stocks.
Diggers: Theo Valeri is undoubtedly the Diggers player opposition sides plan for going into a weekend.
A natural talent with bat and ball, Valeri’s generally regarded in the top handful of all-rounders in the competition.
Jason Hampel is the other star contributor so far this season for Diggers, and has become the second major pillar for his side’s success with Valeri.
TIP – Exies will win if …
Their top order gets a roll on with the bat.
Previous contests between the sides have seen Exies chase down significant totals knowing they have a long order to support a handful of stars at the top.
Diggers will win if …
They find a way to manipulate the wicket and restrict runs.
The bowlers need to get on top and stop any Exies batting momentum with quick wickets and tight efforts in the field.
