Griffith captain Haydn Pascoe hopes to return to the representative arena for Sunday’s O’Farrell Cup clash against Cootamundra.

Pascoe has been sidelined in Griffith’s last few representative matches due to a back injury but is keen to make himself available for O’Farrell Cup.
Pascoe plans to play club cricket on Saturday when the Griffith competition resumes and if he gets through, will line up against Cootamundra the following day.
“I’m not 100 per cent sure yet. The back’s improving and hopefully it will be right,” Pascoe said.
“I’ll try to play on Saturday and see how it goes.
“I definitely want to play. You always want to have a crack at O’Farrell Cup. It’s a prestigious competition, a lot of the old boys talk up how big it is, so I want to be out there.”
Cootamundra defeated O’Farrell Cup holders Temora in the first challenge of the new season last month.
It was Cootamundra’s first win in 15 years and they will now defend it against Griffith.
The Griffith team will not be known until a selection meeting on Wednesday but Pascoe is confident they will travel to Cootamundra with a strong team.
“Once we get our strongest team on the paddock, we’re a pretty strong side,” he said.
“We’ve got to try to get everyone available.
“We’re going to have a bit of youth in our team, which is what we’ve had in recent rep sides. We’ve got a lot of young fellas that have played a higher level of cricket, with Riverina and those teams.
“We’ve got a few boys in a bit of form, too, which is good.”
Pascoe is not aware of any players being unavailable at this stage, so he hopes Griffith will be close to full-strength.
