Hay secured a thrilling win over Griffith in their Milliken Shield game at Hay on Sunday when a leg bye off the last ball of the day got them the one run they needed to win.

Griffith batted first and on a slow outfield hit up a competitive total of 78. Chase Sergi played a hard hitting innings of 24 to top score and received valuable support from Ryan Garcia who remained not out on 12 and Jack Mingay who made 11.
Hay batted slowly at the start of their innings and were 1/28 at the half way mark, needing another 51 runs in the next 15 overs.
They reached the Griffith total with 10 bally to spare but then were unable to score until the final ball.
Jack Mingay was the best of the Griffith bowlers finishing with 2/6.
Ryan Garcia chipped in with 2/13 and Blake Romeo snapped up two vital wickets in the thrilling finish.
Griffith’s next game in Milliken shield will see them travel to Ardlethan/Barellan on February 4.
