It is promising to be the only hot Hotfoot this year, so all Joggers please do your revision on the hot weather guidelines, which can be found under FAQ's on the website.
There was more action than you could poke a stick at this week.
Erica Cunial scored her hat trick after making us wait three weeks for her to tie up the third race, but it was no easy feat as she had to run down the in-form Connor Moore who finished just three seconds back, and only another two seconds to Anita Cunial.
Connor and Isabella Salmon have not yet resolved the Short course competition trophy, with the lead swapping this week, and there is only nine points in it with the final this week.
Connor is rocketing while Isabella is already in orbit, and the question is just how far Connor can rise before he orbits or explodes - Erica has a chance but it is doubtful the other two letting her convert that chance.
Lena Sergi has "all but" secured the Long course trophy, finishing tenth on the day, scoring fastest time of the day with her 30:17 for the 6.1 kilometres, second fastest of the competition, and a long time pb – and still has breath to complain about her handicap – well she is correct, it is hard, and so is everyone's.
Michael Turner had his first career win, and it was in the Long, apparently the short run is too competitive for him with all those quick kids creating havoc at the top end.
Moreno Chiappin is coming on strong and bubbling up the pointscore but alas, too late.
Anthony Trefilo had a party to go to (who hasn't Anthony!) so what does he do? The competition fastest time in the Short obviously, with his 13:03 for the 3.1 kilometres.
Tom Mackerras starred with his post-race refreshments to celebrate his first thousand kilometres, and meanwhile, Brian Bellicanta got to 5000km last week, Lena Sergi should get to her 3000km next week to make it a double celebration for her, and Vince Restagno is also promising to push his 5000km milestone … it must be Christmas!
The following week will be the start of the Summer Series of Social runs with the usual two minute groupings and promotion / relegation for the least sociable runners who either take off ahead or drag behind.
The Joggers meet every Saturday with a current choice of 3.1 or 6.1 kilometres on the tracks and trails of Scenic Hill, starting 5:30pm from the water tower opposite Pioneer Park Museum, be early to register.
