Beyond Bank and Country Hope are hoping for strong support from local communities as they launch their annual Christmas Gift Appeal.

Up until 6 December, residents can drop off presents at the Bank’s branches in Griffith, Leeton, Narrandera, Wagga, Coolamon and Ganmain.

“We’d just like people to bring in a nice new gift to the value of $20, and we’ll wrap it up for you and place it under our Christmas tree,” Beyond Bank relationship consultant Francesca Madaffari said. 

The presents bought are a big help to parents, who may be weighed down with medical costs and struggling to afford something to buy themselves.

Gifts will be given to children at a Christmas Party on December 10. 

In previous years, hundreds of gifts have been donated and the Bank has been overwhelmed by the generosity of customers and residents.

“Our Christmas Gift Appeal is now in its 8th year and with the inclusion of our new branches in Griffith, Leeton and Narrandera, gives the community more places to drop gifts off,” said Karen Garrod, Community Development Manager, Beyond Bank.

“Presents of all shapes and sizes are welcome for children from young infants through to 16 year olds, all that is needed are new, unwrapped presents up to the value of $20.

“We always receive overwhelming support through the generosity of our customers and the wider community and our local branch staff are looking forward to attending the Children’s Christmas Parties in Griffith and Wagga to help Santa hand out the gifts,” said Ms Garrod.

“The support of the community makes a huge difference in helping our families,” said Ellie Webb from Country Hope. “We know our local community enjoys giving gifts because they recognise that a child will really benefit from it.”
